Cutimed® DebriClean
Intended Purpose
Indications: Cutimed DebriClean aids in the deridement of superficial wounds and surrounding skin, for example: diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, pressure sores, postoperative wounds and wounds healing by secondary intention, superficial burns, the absorption of exudate, slough and dry skin flakes.
Wear time: Cutimed DebriClean is used for wound cleansing and debridement and does not remain on the wound. The foam technology with additional unique fibres reduces time needed for cleansing. Results can be seen after 2 – 5 minutes of cleansing.

How to use
2. Prepare the following:
• single-use protective cover
• single-use gloves, more than one pair where necessary
• hand-disinfectant
• wound-cleansing solution
• Cutimed DebriClean
3. Perform debridement according to national guidelines.
Moisten Cutimed DebriClean in its packaging with wound-cleansing solution. All current wound-cleansing solutions are suitable including antiseptics*.
Ensure the pad is fully saturated (recommended amount: approx. 30 ml.) (A) If Cutimed DebriClean is insufficiently moistened, the patient may experience pain.
4. Use the strap on the back to hold Cutimed DebriClean. (B)
• Use the wound contact side of the moistened Cutimed DebriClean to clean the wound, using circular movements while applying gentle pressure. (C)
• Use the abrasive area on the wound contact side of Cutimed DebriClean to help removing coatings such as mild necrosis.
• Skin reactions (e.g. skin redness) may occur due to application.
• Change the cleaning area as soon as the mono-filament microfiber loops have collected sufficient slough or use a new Cutimed DebriClean.
5. If necessary, irrigate the wound with a suitable wound-cleansing solution.
6. Dispose the used Cutimed DebriClean via regular household or clinical waste. (D)
7. After debridement proceed with the standard dressing change.
• Treatment of the wound with Cutimed Gel before dressing change is helpful for the debridement of necrotic wounds.
• Cutimed DebriClean is intended to be applied by healthcare professionals only.
*current wound-cleansing solutions based on PHMB, sodium hypochlorite or hypochlorous acids, octenidine, 0.9% medical saline solution, water and Ringer’s solution. Please always follow the instructions of any product that is used in combination.
